Everyone has begun to notice a change in Hook Foot's behaviour. Eugene offers to speak with him and discovers he met someone special on the island. He reveals the news to the group and Hook Foot explains how he met Seraphina. She gave him a sea shell necklace and reveals he is going on his first date with her. Eugene and Rapunzel offer dating advice, but they are completely opposite of each other. In order to help better prepare Hook Foot for his date, Rapunzel and Eugene go and meet Seraphina. Much to their surprise, they discover that Seraphina is actually a mermaid. Afterwards, Eugene and Rapunzel continue to offer advice and even accompany Hook Foot on his date with Seraphina to help in any way they can. However, Hook Foot has trouble expressing his feelings for Seraphina and Rapunzel and Eugene find themselves getting into a bit of a fight with each other in regards to how Hook Foot should be around Seraphina.

Eventually, Hook Foot finally lets go of his worries and insecurities, and let's out a sweet romantic side. They both finds themselves growing closer and soon Hook Foot confesses his love. Seraphina is shocked and has something important to confess too, but they are soon interrupted when they are attacked by the fish creatures called Vodniks. Everyone fights them off until they are captured. Hook Foot discovers the reason why they are after Seraphina is because she is a thief, who stole a valuable yet delicate Pearl that is contained in the necklace Seraphina gave Hook Foot. The Vodniks that are after her are underwater law enforcers. While upset and hurt that Seraphina used him, Hook Foot’s hurt feelings are quickly washed away when Seraphina confesses she truly loves him and they both decide to runaway together. However, the Vodniks continue to try and capture Seraphina. The group escapes captivity thanks to Shorty and reunite with Hook Foot. Together, they keep trying to fight off the Vodniks, but in the end, Seraphina willingly gives herself up in exchange for Hook Foot and the others safety. Hook Foot and Seraphina share a sad goodbye with Hook Foot giving Seraphina his own Hook as something for her to remember him by.

After Seraphina leaves, Hook Foot is sitting on the beach all day sorrowfully. Meanwhile, tons of crystals of mermaid tears are washed onto the beachside. Hook Foot picks up the pieces and walks along the beach in the sunset.

Rapunzel and her friends continue on their journey of following the Black Rocks, leading them to beyond the mainland and out to sea. They convert the Caravan into a boat, but a storm quickly appears and soon, everyone becomes stranded on a beautiful beach on an unidentified landmas. Everyone gets to work on building shelter and spilt into teams, deciding to make a fun contest out of it with Eugene. The boys and Fidellaagainst Rapunzel, Cassandra, Maximus, and Pascal. Pascal tries to help in any way he can, but because of his small size, Rapunzel begins to unintentionally make him feel unimportant and treats him more of a pet than a friend. Eventually, Rapunzel, Cass, Max, and Pascal finish their hut and while they go off looking for more supplies, they are met by tiny creatures called the Lorbs. They notice that Pascal strongly resembles their King, Lizardos, the small chameleon is given royal treatment while Rapunzel, Cass, and Max get treated as his servants, causing them to realize how they have been treating Pascal the same way due to his small size.

Meanwhile, Eugene, Lance and Hook Foot are building their hut. Their first hut gets carried away by ants, and the second one gets destroyed by Shorty. The Lorbs, meanwhile, plead for Pascal's help when they reveal their food source is dangerously low as they come under attack by a firefly. Because Pascal eats bugs they believe he is the solution to their problem, only for Rapunzel, Cass, and Max to discover it is a giant fire breathing firefly. They rush to warn Pascal before it is too late. Pascal faces the creature, but he quickly finds himself running for his life. He soon reunites with Rapunzel who apologizes for her earlier behavior towards him. Once the truth has been revealed to the Lorbs about who Pascal really is, Rapunzel and her friends help fight off the creature but find it almost impossible to beat. However, Rapunzel discovers the firefly is not actually evil but is simply eating too many of the Lorbs' hot peppers, resulting in the fire breath. They try to feed it more cooling food, but all attempts fail until Pascal nearly sacrifices himself to stop the creature. Once the creature has been stopped, Pascal is hailed as a hero and the group returns to Rapunzel and Cassandra's hut to relax and wait until they are rescued.

To acquire a piece of the scroll, Rapunzel travels to an ancient museum at the top of an impossibly tall spire with the museum’s incredibly arrogant curator.

Rapunzel and Eugene encounter a monkey with psychic abilities. His visions lead them to the family of their young friend and former thief Angry.

Rapunzel's adventurous spirit leads the gang to a hidden corner of the woods where everyone is magically transformed into birds. 

When the gang gets lost in the mysterious Forest of No Return, they must rely on the mysterious Adira as their guide.

Rapunzel plans to bring the Goodwill Festival to Vardaros, but when the locals respond more favorably to Cassandra's ideas, Rapunzel becomes competitive.

"The Return of Quaid" is the twenty-third episode of the Tangled: The Series. It premiered on July 1, 2018 and is the second episode in the second season.

Twenty-five years ago Quirin and a warrior named Adira once served King Edmund of a Kingdom that was consumed by the Black Rocks. The King hopelessly tried to destroy the Opal, which is believed to be the causation of the rocks, to no avail. After many failed attempts, King Edmund advised Quirin and Adira to leave the castle and keep anyone from ever finding the opal. In the present, after ending Varian's reign of vengeance, Rapunzel is out on the road with her friends. It has been a week since she left Corona, and was excited to be on her first trip beyond the kingdom walls. Accompanying her on her journey are Eugene, Cassandra, Pascal, Maximus, Fidella, Owl, Lance, and Hook Foot. Together they ride through the country in a large colourful caravan, following the trail of the Black Rocks.
