The episode stars with Carter as part of the Super Hero Boys who join the Super Hero Girls in defending Metropolis from monsters, crime, and disasters. When Wonder Woman pairs the heroes in action, she always pairs Bumblebee with Hawkman.
Afterwards, Karen finds in art class that Carter has been drawing his true love, Princess Chay-Ara. He tells her he was Prince Khufu in a previous reincarnation, and a knight, and a gunslinger, and has been reincarnated overe and over after a spell has been put on the both of them. They always find each other but always "fall into a love that surpasses death." At a museum, they run into Princess Chay-Ara, but she doesn't recognize Carter. He tells Karen that in reincarnation you don't always remember past lives. Karen fins out her name is Shiera Sanders and other details about her.
Karen tries to force Carter to get her attention, but he runs away nervously a few times, before finally deciding to confront his fears and introduce himself, and Shiera asks him on a date. Right before Carter gets to the date, he's attacked by Hath-Set with a sickle made of Nth metal. Hath-Set calls Carter Khufu, and when Carter sees his face he recalls that Hath-Set is an evil sorcerer and "leader of the rebellion", who destroyed Khufu and Chay-Ara's kingdom, dooming them to an endless cycle of reincarnation. When Hath-Set finds out Carter and Shiera haven't fallen in love in this reincarnation yet, he leaves and threatens to return after they fall in love. Carter decides not to go on the date, and the episode ends with a shot of a drawing of him on Shiera's napkin.
